We are supporting the #WearPurpleforJIA campaign by wearing purple and collecting loose change to give to the charity National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS).
We want to raise awareness as one of our pupils has the condition. JIA is juvenile idiopathic arthritis, which means getting arthritis before the age of 16, where the cause is unknown.
Have a look at our photos of the day so far...
Here's what Alex (Year 2) wrote about the day:
Friday 6th May
Today I got into my batman T/shirt and my black shorts and purple socks.
I was really excited because we were raising money for charity.
When I got to school I started to fill in the chalk drawings of the reception with one pounds and pennies.
After that we went inside and I got the register.
Then I went and washed my hands ready to make scrummy peppermint creams.
Next I went to build a family of ants and honey bees. We are trying to raise money for people who have JIA like Clara. Then we went into collective worship Imogen explained about Clara’s Injection Clara was really brave when she had her blood test.
